Tech-Driven Pact: Nexford and UPI Innovate for Faster, Cost-Effective Graduation

Date:

Nexford University has entered into a significant partnership with UPI Study by signing an Articulation Agreement, effective April 24, 2026. This agreement paves the way for a structured transfer credit pathway for students aiming to pursue undergraduate degrees at Nexford. Under this collaboration, Nexford will assess UPI Study courses that have ACE and NCCRS credit recommendations to count towards its undergraduate programs. This initiative offers learners an opportunity to engage in nearly 70 courses across various disciplines such as business, computer science, AI, math, science, and social sciences, all of which can be completed entirely online and at their convenience.

The pathway aims to cater to working adults, those considering a career change, and learners with demanding schedules by providing a faster and more efficient route to obtaining a degree. This allows students to start their journey at Nexford with pre-earned credits, thereby reducing both the time required to graduate and the overall cost of their education. Dr. Ann Larson, Chief Academic Officer at Nexford University, emphasized the institution’s commitment to flexibility, stating, “At Nexford, we believe the path to a degree should fit the life you already have, not the other way around.” She highlighted the agreement with UPI Study as a credible opportunity for learners to build towards their degree even before enrolling.

UPI Study offers a cost-effective alternative to traditional education methods, with self-paced courses starting at $89 per month, compared to the usual $300 to $600 per credit hour at community colleges. Students can complete individual courses, receive official transcripts, and submit their credits to Nexford for evaluation. A comprehensive course equivalency guide, derived from Appendix 1 of the agreement, is accessible on their website.

Nexford University, based in Washington, DC, is an AI-driven institution focused on aligning education with career outcomes rather than adhering to outdated traditions. The university’s programs are designed to be fully adaptable to the needs of working adults, allowing them to balance their professional and personal lives while pursuing their academic ambitions. UPI Study, on the other hand, offers college-level courses that are recommended by ACE and NCCRS and are accepted by over 2,100 universities. These courses are entirely online, self-paced, and require no physical attendance.
