In a significant move towards electrification, Range Rover has introduced its inaugural fully electric SUV in the UK market, with prices beginning at £154,070. This pioneering vehicle marks the brand’s commitment to electric mobility, with customers now able to place orders. The first deliveries are anticipated to commence in 2027, setting the stage for a new era in luxury SUVs.
Manufacturing of the Range Rover Electric will take place at Jaguar Land Rover’s Solihull plant in the UK, underscoring the company’s strategic shift towards sustainable automotive solutions. The luxury SUV is equipped with dual electric motors, delivering an impressive output of up to 550PS and 850Nm of torque. This power enables the vehicle to accelerate from 0 to 60mph in just 4.3 seconds, while offering an estimated driving range of up to 372 miles according to the WLTP testing cycle.
The SUV’s 118.5kWh battery features advanced 800-volt charging capabilities, allowing a rapid charge from 10% to 80% in approximately 22 minutes under optimal conditions. Despite its electric transformation, the Range Rover Electric maintains the brand’s signature luxury and off-road prowess, enhanced by an electric powertrain and improved aerodynamic design. Remarkably, it can navigate water depths of up to 900mm, preserving its robust off-road credentials.
This model is the culmination of several years of rigorous development and testing, ensuring it meets the high standards associated with the Range Rover name. The production process will be supported by Jaguar Land Rover’s facility in Wolverhampton, which is responsible for producing battery packs and electric drive units, further establishing the UK as a hub for cutting-edge automotive technology.
